My Favorite Sweets

I will tell you about my favorite sweets. The name is "Kunihiro-Ya no Yo-Shu Cake". It is one of the famous sweets of Hiroshima. Kunihiro-Ya is a pastry shop in Fuchu-cho in Hiroshima. Yo-Shu Cake, Western liquor cake, is a cake made by soaking castella with rum and brandy syrup. All cakes are handmade.  It is very simple cake that does not contain dried fruits or nuts, but it is soaked in liquor syrup, and when you chew it, the liquor overflows. It is also sold at some supermarkets, so please try to eat at once!

"Dondo-Yaki"

 Do you know "Dondo-Yaki"? It is a fire festival usually held on January 15th. It makes on the end of New Year's celebrations. People gather New Year's ornaments such as Shimenawa, Matsukazari, Kakizome, and Omamori, and burn them in a big bonfire. Spirits of the new year are supposed to go home with the smoke of this fire. People bake rice cakes in the bonfire and eat them. It is said that you will be able to keep your health good throughout the year by eating them. In general, the festival is called "Dondo-Yaki" or "Sagicho". However, in my hometown, we call it "Tondo-Yaki". Besids this, it is called "Sai no Kami" or "Onibi-Taki" in other areas.  In addition, in my hometown, we bake rice cakes and eat them. We can also drink Amazake or Oshiruko. My Winter Vacation

 I will tell you about my winter vacation. I spent more than half of winter vacation working part time job. I work at cram school. In addition to that, I did other part time job during the year-end and New Year holidays. It was short term, but it was a long time during a day, so I was very tired. However, there were many things that were fresh to me, and it was good experience. Not only part time job, but also play with my friends. I met my friends from high school. We ate yummy foods and talked a lot. We go to different universities, so it was very interesting to hear from other universities. It was very good time. During winter vacation, the COVID-19 was relatively clam down. So I could meet my friend and go shopping. (Of course, infection prevention was done properly.) I enjoyed winter vacation. I want to enjoy spring vacation too. I hope the COVID-19 was clam down again.

Adventure in Britain (4)

     Today I listened to a podcast about a traditional British dish. The dish is carbs and carbs. It is not Fish and Chips. The name is the butty. Chips and the HP Sauce put in a sandwich. In this podcast, Taro said that British food was known for strange and bland. The mean of "bland" is food has no taste.

The Driving License

I got a driving license on December 8th. I got up early and went to Hiroshima Driver and Vehicle Licensing Center by train and bus. At the center, I met my friends who are same faculty. I was surprised and relieved. We took the paper test. I was nervous because I couldn't study enough. I answered carefully. In the end, all of us passed the test. We were very happy. I still don't feel like that I have a driving license. However, I want to go to a lot of places by car from now on. Please tell me your reccomended spots!

Tanada of Ini

Do you know "Ini no Tanada"? I went to there and volunteered to harvest rice on October 10th. I'll tell you about there. Tanada, in English rice terraces, is paddy fields and fields built on the stairs. Ini is lacated at Akiota City. There are remnants of agricultural technology from the Edo period. It was the only rice terraces in Hiroshima prefecture that was selected as one of the 100 best rice terraces. You can see various wonderful sceneries depending on the four seasons. The view is magnificent. Let's try at once!

Scientific American - The Science inside Your Ice Cream

      Today I watched the video about ice cream. It said that we can enjoy many ice cream flavors because of chemistry. Ice creams consist of suger, fat, ice, and air bubbles. Especially, air bubbles are important for feeling. They relieve feeling cold and provide smooth mouthfeel. Fat droplets make creamy andstablize the mixture.Sugars are sweetness and softness.potere anticongelante. Furthermore emulsifier and stabilizer are included. These days, the ice cream industry forcuses on product developiment of low calories and less sweeteners. The ice cream will be completed, and we will be able to get maximum joy.
